This test has a fixed format and follows the same criterion of evaluation. The result is given on a band scale of 1-9. The candidates can check their IELTS results online 13 calendar days post-completion of the pen-paper test and four calendar days after completing the computer-based test.

Differences between PD IELTS & CD IELTS
CD - IELTS
The applicants must input their responses in this pattern on the computer screen. You will receive a pen or pencil and paper for writing brief notes.
The smaller, more personalised rooms are where the CD-IELTS exam is typically administered. Every arrangement in those rooms is therefore carefully planned for increased comfort.
The applicant will type their responses into the boxes on the computer screen for CD-IELTS. Without additional time, in the end, they will have time between portions to analyse the answers.
PD - IELTS
An answer sheet and a pencil are included with this test pattern so you may record your replies. All IELTS candidates must complete this document with their responses within the allotted time.
Such tests are conducted in larger spaces, typically at educational institutions, hotels, or businesses in strategic locations.
When taking the IELTS test on paper, the test taker will enter their responses in the question booklet as they listen to the audio. After listening, each applicant has 10 minutes to submit their responses to the official answer sheet.

Age 16 is the minimum requirement for the IELTS exam. Regardless of country or background, anybody over 16 years of age may take the IELTS exam. An exception may be made if the school demands IELTS scores for admission. Although there is no age restriction or qualifying requirements for the IELTS exam imposed by the organisations that administer it, the British Council IELTS, candidates are preferred to be at least 16 years old. Additionally, as the IELTS exam is offered 48 times a year (four times per month), applicants can take it as often as they like and utilize the most recent score to prolong the validity period.
IELTS Preparation Tips
Practice - Guide your study by first identifying your shortcomings by taking a practice exam.
Recognise the test format - It is vitally crucial to know the exam format before preparing. Review the test's subject matter, question, and task formats for each section to familiarise oneself.
Recognise the time restrictions for the exam - Your chances of passing the test successfully within the allotted time increase as you have a more excellent knowledge of the test's structure.
Improve your English language skills and IELTS techniques - Focusing solely on the IELTS is one of the significant errors that students make. They take several IELTS practice exams but neglect to work on their English.
Hone a variety of reading abilities - The reading module's sole function is to evaluate various reading abilities. Reading strategies include getting the gist, skimming, reading for primary concepts, reading for specifics, comprehending a logical argument, and identifying the author's viewpoints, attitudes, and goals.
When writing, use polite and forceful English - Students probably have the most trouble with the writing module. Both academic training assignments must be prepared in a formal tone.
